I have the english skills of a 7 year old

I take great pride in having a blog that most people have the reading level to understand. You see, I’m not ageist, sexist or elitist. Anyone that can read is welcome to my blog. Currently working on a solution to make it easier to understand for people that are illiterate. I don’t want to exclude anyone! 
BWAH! I was so offended when it said “high school” for mine… I’m going to start using a lot of random goddam words on my blog, goddamit!

Of course after checking this I was compelled to try it for a bunch of other blogs. The weirdest thing happened–an extremely basic one by old friends of mine (eg, we went to disneyworld today. It was fun!) got a “Genius” level! (???) Obviously this reading-level rater isn’t something to take too seriously, but messing around with it did make for an entertaining half hour.

I completely believe that simplicity is the key to a lot of things, and even in my academic writing it’s the hardest part; writing clearly about complicated issues. But those things are mostly written in Finnish of course…
